not so rolling STONES!

Well, it’s official, I have another kidney stone. I was at the urologist yesterday and he confirmed that not only do I have one but it’s 4mm in size. 4mm!! That’s like a pencil eraser coming through a piece of string. There are few things in this world that strike terror into my heart like pissing rocks. To think that I take such care of myself only to have my insides throw stones at me like a rioting crowd. What’s next, car bombs from my pancreas and IEDs from my liver? C’mon guys, work with me here!
My urologist is very helpful though. He offered to either let me try to pass this thing with a 60% chance or have the opportunity to have a novelty pencil crammed up my junk like this is some sort of Chapelle Show skit. You would think that there would be some other option that could help dissolve this thing or break it up. But no, apparently the only medical advances affecting the male genitals favor those over 60. Anything else relies on voodoo and bamboo rods. I can get an unholy boner at 95 but at 27 my penis is considered a Twinky that needs filling.
The other amuzing thing about all of this is that virtually everything gives you kidney stones. Too much calcium, KIDNEY STONE … too much protein, KIDNEY STONE … read too much, KIDNEY STONE! I look around at some of my collegues who have the diet of garbage disposal in a butcher shop and yet I’m the one in pain. The good news is that most people don’t die from these things. Well, at least not physically. Instead you just die a little inside as you realize that there is yet another danger to your Unit out there.
Tucson has Monsoons?!?!
I got back from my trip to Tucson just a couple of days ago and I had a pretty good time. I got to see several people I haven’t seen since high school and got to meet some new people too. The 24 hours I spent in the car was pretty good for the soul as well. Just driving through the landscape reminded me of all that there is and how insignificant I really am.
In addition to the lovely landscape that surrounded me during my drive I saw some interesting stuff in Tucson. For the first time I saw a girl on a leash with, what appeared to be, her boyfriend walking her. I saw a guy flying down the road with a giant load of scrap metal wrapped in a tarp in one hand while riding a bike at breakneck speeds. Curiously, I also saw many girls with enough eye makeup to make Boy George or Bozo The Clown wince. Settle down girls and remember, Amy Winehouse is a crack addict.
All in all Tucson was a success. Big thanks to Matt Munsey for letting me stay at his place, Tiana and Doug for making arrangements to come out on Saturday, the Robinson family for having me over on the 4th and all the people I met as a result!
I’ll be back!
P.S. - I found my iPod!
My iPod Grew Legs!
OK, so I’m about to go on my trip to Tucson and I can’t find my iPod! I just spent several days cultivating playlists for my iPod only to find it has gone the way of a Chris Angel act.
If anyone sees my iPod please tell it to come home. It’s father is very worried and would hate to replace it with a newer, better, more capable version.
Planning a trip

This 4th of July will be spent in Tucson! I can’t think of a better reason to visit than to see friends and this journey is no different. I chose to drive not because I’m crazy but because it’s 900 miles I think the time on the road might do me good. If anyone knows of any wonders I should see along the way (i.e. the largest scrap metal roadrunner) please let me know. In any case, the drive will be made possible through my iPod which I’m loading with new playlists over the next few days.
Creating playlists is a difficult thing for me. Since my taste in music, though dominated by hip-hop titles, varies with my mood I often abandon playlists midway through their creation much as I do writing letters and penning thoughts. I’ve devoted several hours to this task in sporadic fashion in hopes that I’ll be able to capture similar moods that I might experience on my 12 1/2 hour drive. We’ll see if my dilligence will be vindicated or in vain.
Back @ Lucy’s

Tonight is the first night in MONTHS that I’m visiting my old favorite spot in San Marcos. It’s Wednesday night which means hip-hop night at Lucy’s featuring Electric Mayhem. I use to go to this place EVERY Wednesday night but stopped after a while. Not sure why I ever stopped going but, hey, I’m bout to be back at it.
If anyone is in San Marcos on a Wednesday I highly suggest Lucy’s. I’m not so sure about other nights so I won’t speak on it.
